Hello SocialEater!

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER - New Years Resolution

Happy New Year! I hope everyone is having a wonderful rainy/snowy holiday season with lots of good food, friends and family.

My New Years resolution is to eat better. To me, that means fresher and tastier, wonderful new cuisines and cooking techniques. I'll let other people worry about eating less or eating healthier - I want to continue to eat well. Part of this goal is to know what's in season, and for this part of the resolution, I'm ready.

I am always on the lookout for fresh and delicious food. To make it easier to know what is available at each time of year I've created a web gadget which will show you all of the fruits and vegetables which are in season. As the seasons change, so will the gadget, and it will always show you what you can expect at the local farmers markets. You can even change locations to see what is available in defferent states around the US.

I've installed this gadget at the bottom of every SocialEats page. If you're note familiar with gadgets, it is a small program which can be inserted into a web page or blog - so if you have a blog yourself, and want to share this wit your readers, it's super easy to do. To get the code to add this gadget to your web page, you can get the code here. For Google users, you can add the gadget to the google portal front page with this link.

I'd also like to share my friend Adreienne's blog. Adrienne is a frequent SocialEater and is always looking for fabulous freebies and cheap events around New York City. She has already helped me find wonderful cheap eats and food demos, as well as sample sales and other fun events. Her blog is Just Yee in the City.

Happy eating everyone and I'll see you in the new year!
