Over the New Year I took a trip to Florida. I'm always on the lookout for new farmers markets but this time around I found a farm. This farm, 40 minutes outside Sarasota advertises itself as a pick-your-own hydroponic strawberry farm. It looked like something out of a science fiction novel. Rows of stacked styrofoam trays with tiny strawberry plants literally stacked on top of each other. They also had larger vegetables like beets, carrots, tomatoes, eggplants and even cauliflower.

On another note, it's Restaurant Week in New York this week. I'd also like to thank everyone for being part of the SocialEats experience. I recently hosted my 100th dinner. It was a wonderful milestone and it could never happen without all of you, the adventurous new york diners which make it fun. Thanks for the company, the funny stories, and a hundred good times.
