A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER - Bring on the Heat

Whoa is it hot. I always forget how much I love/hate a sweltering summer day. Sitting outside in a shady spot, eating cold watermelon. Now that's summer. The heat brings out the best flavors - watermelons, raspberries, cherries. It's like all of nature is celebrating - a wild party bursting with flavor. If you haven't been to the farmers market and picked up a peach yet - stop reading, do it now - it's incredible. 

Good. I'm glad you're back, wipe the juice from your chin, and I hope that while you were out there you picked up some other goodies. There's so much to choose from. So many different tastes and textures like cilantro, lettuce, early tomatoes, fresh beets, early garlic, currants, maybe event some squash blossoms if you're lucky. I know I'll be using all of these at my dinners, and you're welcome to join in. Ilana and I are looking forward to sharing a lot of meals featuring what we can find at the markets, so take a look at the upcoming events, and we'll see you at dinner.
